Our Story

Welcome to Farfetched Nantucket Honey, a family-owned beekeeping sanctuary on the idyllic island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. What began as a spark of curiosity has blossomed into a dedication to sustainable beekeeping and producing raw honey that reflects our natural surroundings.

Our apiary, nestled within 504 protected acres of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, enjoys a prime location with views of the Atlantic Ocean. This pristine environment allows our bees to create honey of unparalleled purity and flavor.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From our honey harvesting techniques to our eco-friendly packaging, we strive to harmonize with nature, ensuring the well-being of our bees and the environment.

Our Process

At Farfetched Nantucket Honey, we believe the finest honey comes from the purest processes. Our honey is raw, unfiltered, and only strained with a coarse mesh, ensuring it retains all its natural pollen, minerals, probiotics, and antioxidants. We store our honey exclusively in stainless steel and glass containers to preserve its natural flavors and beneficial properties. We bottle our honey 95°F, the natural temperature of a hive, preserving its delicate enzymes and natural goodness. Our jars are washed and sanitized using high-temperature water, avoiding chemical sanitizers to keep our honey as pure as nature intended.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to sustainability and the health of our bees. They forage in the Nantucket Conservation Foundation’s Squam Swamp and Squam Farm, encompassing 504 acres of diverse mesic forest and wooded swamp. This area, with trees up to 150 years old, provides a rich and unique habitat. The upland zones are dominated by tupelo, sassafras, and oaks, while the wooded swamps are filled with large red maples. This environment shapes the distinctive flavor and quality of our honey. Our practices ensure the vitality of our bee populations and the ecosystems they thrive in.
